Overtime was very eventful for both teams, both goaltenders with lots of big saves to keep their teams in the game. The shootout was not too eventful for either team until Sidney Crosby out waited goaltender Semyon Varlamov. Josh Bailey had to score to keep his team in the game and unfortunately he was not able to get it in the back of the net. The Islanders after tonight have scored a total of 28 goals in 12 games so far this season averaging 2.33 goals scored per game. Luckily the Isles were able to get a point and now have a 5 game point streak, the Islanders next game will be Saturday vs. Boston.
